The Parkinson team includes people from all walks of life. We are scientists, artists, photographers, activists, researchers and physicians, teachers, patients, composers, and many more. We come from diverse backgrounds but what we have in common is our focus and desire to make a difference in the lives of patients and increase funding for research on Parkinson's disease and other neurological diseases.
The Parkinson Project was created with the above goals in mind, starting in 2017 and focusing on creating partnerships with people and organizations in order to achieve the above goals.
The year 2017 is also significant as it is the 200 year anniversary of the publication of the essay on Parkinson's Disease written by Dr. James Parkinson explaining and defining Parkinson's disease for the first time. Dr. Parkinson did not name or label the disease with the current name that we know. He called it "Shaking Palsy".
